You get married and you and your wife are very happy with each other. Not only are you happy with your wife but you are also happy with yourself. You feel happy, calm, and ready to take on the world.
Then …. you lose your job, a death happens in the family, or you have to move away from your familiar neighberhood and EVERYTHING changes. You are no longer happy, you are irritable, you begin to pick fights, you start to go on-line all night long, and you begin to drink or “smoking up”.

The first step to overcome depression and restore your marriage is obviously to diagnose that you or your spouse is suffering from depression and not some other disorder. After you “name it”, the saying goes, then you can treat and “claim it”.
